Composer



Dwayne has written for chamber ensembles, choirs, dance, film and theatre. He has participated in a residency as a composer at the Banff Centre for the Arts and his original compositions have been performed on CBC Television (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation).

He has also worked on a number of composition projects with students from primary to high school age (Key Stage 2, 3 and 4) as a classroom teacher, as a freelance musician and representing CAPES (Calgary Arts Partners in Education Society).

Percussionist | Drummer

An accomplished percussionist, Dwayne has performed with the Calgary Philharmonic Orchestra, the Calgary Civic Symphony and the touring National Ballet Orchestra. He was a YAMAHA Canada sponsored clinician and guest speaker.

He has recorded for CBC Radio (Canadian Broadcasting Corporation) and performed with pit orchestras in both Calgary and Toronto.

Dwayne is a founding member of the Move to Strike Percussion Group and the saxophone-marimba duo Saximba. When in Canada, he was active as a freelance percussionist and drum kit player in a variety of musical settings.

He has worked as a modern/contemporary, Flamenco, Samba and West African dance percussion accompanist for a variety of artists and schools.  When in London, he was a contemporary dance percussion accompanist at both the University of Surrey, Guildford and the London School of Contemporary Dance @ The Place.  When in Calgary, he played for various schools including the University of Calgary Dance Program, the Alberta Ballet School of Dance and the Decidedly Jazz Danceworks School of Dance.
